	Tau Beta and The Children's Center
	In 2004, the membership of Tau Beta voted to partner with The Children's Center in Detroit. Over the past three years, Tau Beta and its members have made a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children and families in the Detroit community. By offering volunteer and fundraising assistance, it is Tau Beta's desire to further the mission of The Children's Center: to help children and families shape their own future. Tau Beta members help supply and maintain The Center's "Closet O'Stuff", donate Easter baskets for the children of the Teenaged Parents Program, plant The Children's Center's beautiful garden, provide turkeys for Thanksgiving, gifts at Christmas and our Tau Beta Juniors assist in helping children create crafts for their caregivers for Mother's and Father's Day.
	In June 2006, the Tau Beta Center for Discovery opened in the lower level of the Children's Center Paul Marsh program building. The Center for Discovery is a library with 12 computers and internet access. Here, Tau Beta members also read to children and provide various resource materials for clients as well as parents and families. Our goal is to provide at-risk children and their families with the additional tools and resources they need to be successful in the world.
